Blind Sports Organization

We are known as Blind Sports Organization (BSO). After 31 years as the Pennsylvania Association for Blind Athletes (PABA), the Board decided a new name was needed to better express our mission and our regional involvement. We have also written a new strategic plan. We have the same mission, but we have broadened our scope to include the entire Mid-Atlantic region, not just Pennsylvania

Mission: The Blind Sports Organization will promote, provide, and advocate sports, recreational, and social opportunities for blind and visually impaired.

USABA

OUR MISSION:
The United States Association of Blind Athletes enhances the lives of blind and visually impaired people by providing the opportunity for participation in sports and physical activity.

Kentucky Goaiball

The Kentucky Association of Blind Athletes is a 501 C (3) nonprofit affiliate of the United States Association of Blind Athletes.  Our mission is to increase the number and quality of recreational and athletic opportunities for Kentuckians who are blind and visually impaired and to inform the community at large about the capabilities of blind individuals.  As an affiliate of the USABA, KABA provides information, training and opportunities to compete in 11 sanctioned sports.  Due to the large number of blind and visually impaired individuals who live a sedimentary lifestyle and who may not possess the skills or interest in competitive athletics, KABA also realizes the value gained through participation in recreational activities that promote a healthy lifestyle.

Minnesota Goalball

Inside you will find information on Minnesota Goalball, a nonprofit organization that provides blind and visually impaired athletes in Minnesota with the opportunity to learn the game of Goalball and compete in US Goalball competition

Borp Goalball

Come out and try BORP's friendly Wednesday night program. We practice each week, and take part in local competitions, and whenever possible travel regionally and out of state. If you are just curious and looking for a little exercise and excitement, please join us. If you are a serious player, we can accommodate you as well; you'll have the opportunity to learn from and play with three Paralympians.

Arizona Goalball

We are excited about having the competitive Goalball program up and running at ASDB. This year's team consisted of 6 participants: Dalaih Flake, Pearison Begay, Amanda Simmons, Terri Partain, Kent Hoge and Mike Begay. We also had one practice player who was always eager to come and play on the days that we practiced: Vanessa Hernandez. Two of our players had never played Goalball before, and did an outstanding job learning and developing their skills. For the others who have played goalball programs in the past, we continued to refine the basic mechanics of the game.

NWABA

Vision: To offer athletic opportunities to all blind and visually impaired athletes in Washington, Oregon, Idaho & Montana.

Mission: The Mission of the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) is to encourage blind and visually impaired athletes to participate in sporting programs. This will be accomplished by giving out scholarships to our members, and organizing regional sports teams. NWABA will support athletes of all ages without regard to race or religion.

UTAH

The Utah Foundation for the Blind and Visually Impaired is dedicated to serving Utah's blind children, youth and young adults. We provide training and instructional programs in areas of education, independent living, athletics, and recreation for the purpose of enhancing the lives and capabilities of Utah's blind children and their families.

US Paralympics

The U.S. Olympic Committee's Paralympic Division was formed in 2001 to increase support for Paralympic sport in the USA. The USOC Paralympic Division coordinates the preparation and selection of athletes to U.S. Paralympic Teams, both summer and winter, in conjunction with pertinent National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and other partner organizations. The USOC Paralympic Division also works with national and locally-focused sport organizations that offer Paralympic programs to children and other developing athletes. Through these efforts, the USOC Paralympic Division promotes Olympic ideals throughout the American population, especially among those Americans who have physical disabilities.

The Audio Network

The audio Network does things a little differently. Each page contains streaming audio, which plays automatically, and has simple keyboard shortcuts for navigation.

Once in this site, blind and partially sighted people do not need to rely on their screen reader or any other adaptive technology to enjoy the content.

We hope you enjoy the Audio Network!
